The emotional generosity of the series extends right up until that final, lovely, lingering moment.

In some of the new season's most affecting scenes, BoJack shows Princess Carolyn literally fragmenting herself to get through her daily routine... BoJack seems to understand how performative the job of trying to "have it all" or "do it all" can be.

Season 6 has a steady, startling throughline: BoJack is trying.

Knowing BoJack Horseman is coming to an end is painful enough, and these eight episodes do make an effort to smooth the edges off that sadness.

The last few episodes hit all the right, bittersweet notes, and make the entire journey feel richer for how smartly the show chose its ultimate destination.

The humour almost always lands, and while it rarely goes for belly laughs, it is more about light moments of relief as BoJack's world comes crashing down.

In the end the depressed horse show didn't just give us a way to vocalize our own vulnerabilities, insecurities, and mental anguish. It also gave us hope for a better future, as well as a guide for us all to find our own happiness.

In the end, this is a show about growth, and Season 6 proved that the series evolved along with its characters.

Feb 4, 2020 | Full Review…

I've faithfully followed BoJack Horseman from its beginning, and have frequently found it quite funny and fitfully touching, but as time goes on I find it more difficult to fully embrace the show as a meaningful work.

If it disappoints, well, that is "classic BoJack": the show, like its antihero, will make you love it even as it lets you down.

Feb 14, 2020 | Full Review…

Like all every topic the show has courageously covered in its six seasons, Bojack's ending drives the point home that there are no neatly wrapped conclusions. In fact, it's almost boring-life's a bitch, but it goes on.

Feb 6, 2020 | Full Review…

This result - a finale that asks "How does BoJack go on with his life now?" without really giving a solid answer - is a fitting one for a show that wanted to explore the life of an awful person with unexamined mental health issues and addiction.

Audience Reviews for BoJack Horseman: Season 6

What can I say? It′s pure gold. In a dark, empathic, brilliant and relatable way. You have to see the end. It′s not am all-out happy ending. It is a proper and rightful ending to a riveting series.

This is more of a review for the whole series than this very season: Bojack Horseman is truly a gift for the arts and humanity. It's only been a while since I last watched the series, but I'm already craving for another binge-watch just because I'm not ready to let go of it just yet. It's ironically funny how cartoon animals could better reflect reality than other live series.

anybody who thought Bojack ended poorly is dumb as shit

    It was life-changing.

I thought this season had everything in it that makes Bojack Horseman a great show. It was still a dark season but it still had those light hearted episode with a comedic spin to them.
  • Feb 15, 2020
The fact that they managed to land this ending is fantastic and would be unbelievable if we didnt have 5 earlier seasons of them just landing everything perfectly.
  • Feb 11, 2020
The finest show Netflix has ever had.
  • Feb 10, 2020
With the consistent combination of humour and poignancy that has helped the show define its identity, BoJack Horseman's final season wraps things up in a realistic way that might have a final episode that feels rushed compared to the really good previous episode but is still pretty strong on its own merits and is close to the tone lf the show. That and, if the show ended with the penultimate episode I feel like it would send off some questionable messages. I really don't know how to write this review because the truth is, the show has had such great writing throughout its 5 and a half years that I'm genuinely upset to see it go. At least it got to go out on its own terms unlike the other Netflix show with a similar art style but makes it clear that it's not a spinoff. Goodbye Bojack, I'll miss you :'( You will always hold a dear place in my heart, the horse from "Horsin' Around"
